Pat and I decided to put up the old Christmas tree tonight. We struggled a bit, missing Denae, Melyssa and Riplee… they always helped us with the tree. I was fluffing the garland as Pat was putting together the tree. Pat was going at it real nice… then I busted out laughing… he was trying so hard, and somehow winded up placing the largest/longest peices on the top!! haahhahahaa seriously, it was just too funny. now look at that… look at that crazy tree! aww Pat, only you baby! me and you till the end.. I hope we die holding hands. You are the most wonderful...

A taste of nature…

Pat and I took an afternoon trip to the Patuxent Research Refuge on Saturday. One very interesting project is about the whopping crane. A human dresses like a whopping crane and feeds the babies, then gets in an flying machine that resembles a whooping crane and teaches them to migrate!! neato! you can get info and see some pics here. Another thing that really interested me was this thick hairy root system of poison ivy vines.. . look close at this tree below, that “root” looking traveling up the tree is poison ivy. and those huge leaves?? yep poison ivy.
