Do these looked cooked to you?
Things get busy at my place. Really busy. So I put some sliced sweet potatoes in the oven for 5 hours… not a big deal. I think what makes this funny is what I said to Joshua. I went into the nursery to get Joshua, he just woke up from a nap. I picked him up and said “gah Joshua you smell like burnt toast with jelly on it.” lol I still didn’t realize I left my sweet potatoes in the oven. A couple/few hours go by and I finally find the potatoes in the oven… crackling and sizzling. Not because I remembered there were there, but because I saw...
Read MoreMariella, Bear and Edamame…
Mariella is in love with her stuffed animals right now. She has many and loves them all so much, even this lady bug with long prickly legs that creeps me out. lol Well, today Bear joined us for an afternoon snack. We enjoyed some tasty edamame! I didn’t plan on taking a video clip of us munching on soybeans today, but Mariella was so sweet with bear I had to capture it and share with the world. In the clip Mariella shares her edamame and water with Bear. She notices the camera, leans over and hugs bear and smiles while taking advantage of a photo opportunity. long...

Everyday, Mariella and I make something in our new vitamix blender. Smoothies, ice scream, and soup so far. I’ll say “Want to make a smoothie?” and she replies “yaaaaaaaaaa” and runs to her learning tower to get ready! She loves to help and I let her. Regardless of any mess she may create. It is all good.. She puts in the ingredients, we have tried all sorts of combinations, some of the ingredients we used so far are, fresh and frozen fruit, milk, yogurt, spinach, carrots, coconut milk, and more. I really enjoying my smoothie making time...
Read MoreMariella picking grapes off the vine ~
Mariella is such a great helper! She loves helping me in the kitchen. Every day she climbs in her learning tower and washes dishes, helps prepare food, makes coffee and so much more. It really is something special having her right there with me. I wanted to share her plucking grapes off the vine with me. We always pluck and wash all the grapes as soon as we get home from the grocery store. It is so handy to have a couple containers of fresh picked/washed grapes ready to go in the ice box! here are a few pictures and a video (video low quality, trying out something new.. again.....
Read MoreWeak ass Superbowl food spread.
I really wanted some tasty treats for the Superbowl. I made a apple caramel cake, chocolate covered strawberries, sausage cheese balls and BBQ tiny weenies. We had them along with raw veggies and chips and salsa. Well the best thing was the raw vegetables. For real. My cake was ucky, I was not digging the big glops of caramel in there. My sausage cheese balls were a mess. I didn’t have enough cheese and Ididn’t cut the recipie… so they were mega dry and not cheesy at all. The BBQ weenies were greasy, and well… gross. I bought fancy chocolate for the...

Making chocolate covered stick turned out to be pretty easy! I wanted to share a tip on letting them dry. Get a little pan, fill it with sugar and stick the pretzel sticks in it while they dry. Pretty simply! Avoid laying them down on wax paper, if you don’t want a smooshed and flat side. Anywho, just wanted to share. « Previous Thinking of names for the twins ~ Next » Wee Twins 21 weeks 4 days...

August 7, 2010 We are going to try some avocado today! Last time Wee Baby had some, her gag reflex was still too high and when she went to swallow she gagged a bit and threw up. That was about 6 weeks ago, and now that she is 8 months old we are going to give it another go! She did so well! She made some crazy faces and had a blast squishing up the avocado in her little hands and smashing them into her mouth. She ate some of it, it was hard for her to hold since it was so slippery. The best part is that she didn’t throw up! …….. pictures on flickr too If you...

These raw almonds from Target were put into serving sizes as soon as I got home. Not this time…. this time I won’t go ohhhhh my belly…. wow weeeeeee I am soooo full! I am so damn smart. ok. When Pat and I went to Texas, our first stop was Senor Gordy’s! Why? Well because Snowballs are da bomb and plus it is Gordon and Lynette’s Snowball shop! DUH! Well, even though it was our first stop, they had closed up shop already. Between Pat stopping to play at the casino, and me having to pee every hour, we made a lot of stops! So we didn’t get to enjoy a snowball, BUT the next day ~ oh yeah ~ the next day, Lynette gave us the tour of the snowball stand and also let us try many delicious samples! I was in snowball heaven! After 20 samples or so, ...
