Amy called us when the Saints had a touchdown and we did an interstate shot to celebrate!   I balanced my camera on the soap dispenser and almost lost it to the sink.    And the other picture is Pat and Wee Baby watching the game together.  Such a great game!

In the mean time, I am a New Mommy!  Behold my Wee Baby Girl…

Well… scared to use the mist too.. I let a couple days go by since it wasn’t affecting her, I just thought she would sneeze it out or something. (which she did once before)

It is morning… 9ish… I am holding Wee Baby in the kitchen heating up a bottle. It is quiet and we just woke up. The bottle is almost done, I open the kitchen drawer to get a towel so I can wipe the steam off the bottle. I grab the towel as I was talking to Mariella, “good morning sugar poo!” ” did you have a good nap?” She went to talk and make some morning ohhs and ahhhs and as she did, some snotty stuff must have went in her throat. She did an eyes closed – noses scrunched – mouth open – gaggy thing – and she didn’t take a breath. My immediate response was to reach for the saline mist to squirt up there to loosen the snot so she could swallow it or cough it up.. ? As I reached for the saline mist, I closed the kitchen drawer with my hip, I caught her little foot it the drawer. So now she can’t breath and she is flailing her arms and legs all over the place because her mommy hurt her foot and she still needs to swallow or cough up a lump of snot.

I have the mist, pop off the clear top and do you see that little white top?? I tried to remove it too. I pulled… I pinched… I grabbed a steak knife and tried to slice it off.. Mariella is still jerking and flailing all over the place… “damn this plastic is thick” one handed, trying to use a knife, too risky, I got halfway through the cap.. it is now jagged and sliced up. “this is f**king ridiculous!” I throw the knife across the counter… back to the towel drawer to get the scissors… I chopped the tip off with the scissors.

Finally I got the damn cap off!!!

Freaked out, scared, using saline for the first time ever (for myself or baby) I give the bottle a test squirt. I pressed the trigger and saline shot up and hit the ceiling! “OH MY GOD What the hell? this is not right! Saline mist MY ASS!” arghhhhhhhhhh helppppppppppppppp meeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

I have some saline drops in her bedroom…. so I run down the hallway to her room… laid her on her changing table… and successfully put a few drops in each nostril. By this time, I think all the flailing and jerking movements from me running down the hallway knocked the snot down and out of the way. She was happy and content laying there, and I was in tears from all the terror and chaos of the last 60 seconds.

You probably already know that there is no “white cap” on the saline mist bottle. The way you see it is the way it is supposed to be. In my panic, I thought I had to cut the top off to release the saline solution. You know, like cutting the tip off of a tube of super glue, or a rubber silicon tube. My brain just thought, get the white cap off so the spray will come out!

I can laugh now! So can Pat, he nearly busted a gut when he came home and pressed the trigger on the saline mist bottle and saw the saline shoot up 6 feet.

Today was the best day! The day started with a good 5 hour sleep from 1 am to 6 am! Pat took Mariella from 6 to 9 and I was able to catch up on some much needed sleep. We had free coffee from the lounge. Morning lounging around the apartment. Mariella took a good 3 hour nap, and during this time Pat and I cleaned up the apartment, washed the clothes, and got things looking like a home again! I even took a shower! lol

We put on our Saints gear and took our first Saints family picture. Thanks to Mike and Denise, Mariella had her first Saints shirt! She was so adorable and she actually stayed up and appeared to be watching the game during the first quarter! Mike and Denise started a new fun tradition! Each year they are going to give Mariella a Saints outfit and we get to take a pretty pic of Wee Baby in her Saints gear. Each year, Denise is going to add an 8 x 10 Mariella Saints picture to her wall, how cool is that? Thanks Mike and Denise!

Who Dat! We had fun, wish we could have spent it with more friends and family. We were invited to watch the games with a friend in Pennsylvania, I was just nervous on taking care of Mariella out of the house. …. I guess I must get out the house sooner or later! …. guess it is later! Plus we just got back from bringing Wee Baby in from urgent care, I was worried about her poop, but not to worry it is all fine and dandy. Thanks Shelly and Jason for thinking of us! Maybe next time!

Hello over there sweet little Trinitie and her big sister Lexie!  I can’t believe it is Trinitie’s birthday ~ wow weeeeee time flies by!  Trinitie is a whopping four years old today and I almost have to slap myself to realize it!  She is getting to be such a big girl now and I am so sad that I will be missing her birthday party and all the goodness that comes along with visiting Louisiana for her special day.   boo

Nanny loves you so much…  I can’t be at  your birthday party, but when Bubba and I go down to visit, we will take you to chuckie cheese and have a little party!  OK?   Sounds good?  Bubba and Nanny will bring presents and we can open presents and eat pizza and play lots and lots of games!

I hope you had a fabulous birthday, and I can’t wait to celebrate with you and finally enjoy a margarita!  Its been almost a year since I had a margarita!

Any day now ~ any day now I will go into LABOR! Hard to believe… seems like last week I just found out I was pregnant! Time flies when you are bare foot and pregnant! “Pat bring me some bon bons, my soap opera just came on!” LOL

ahhhh soon Wee Baby will be here. Soon our lives will never ever be the same. Soon we will get to see and hold little Mariella. I get butterflies just thinking about it!

Last night I experienced a couple braxton hicks contractions… it was interesting, not painful just unconfortable, but I think my body is preparing and gearing up for the real thing.

I been sleepy ~ tired throughout the day ~ but besides being tired and the occasional back pain…. things have been going nicely! My belly is gigantic! At Target last week, someone asked “are you expecting twins?” hahahaha I said yes…. then no. That made me feel really big! Well not as big as when I heard Denise over the phone talking to Pat… when She saw my picture.. she said “that’s a huge F**king baby!” LOL I heard her from across the room!

My Wee Baby Belly!

I am especially thankful for my mom and dad…   with out them, I would not be!  Dad spent his day in Montgomery, I was happy to talk to him yesterday and today, PLUS he has a plane ticket to come and visit in December!  Can’t wait to see you daddy! Sending you all my love!  Oh, and he is so creative, do you know how he cooked his pumpkin pie with a broken oven?  You are so awesome Daddy!

Mom, Pat and I started Thanksgiving at 2:30 am with a trip to the emergency room!  Mom decided to give us a practice run, but instead of me going into labor, Mom had an episode with her heart.   We went to the emergency room at a fabulous hospital with fabulous people and she received immediate care and attention.  Mom is so strong! With God’s will, our prayres, Wee Baby’s love, and laughter and optimism from the hospital staff…  Mom was able to “fix” herself!  Heart beat came back to normal, afib issues went away, blood pressure went from like 190 something back to normal….   all with in a couple/ few hours with no medication.  Even her PT test came back normal!   How wonderful is that?   We got home around 6 am and started Thanksgiving part 2 around 10 am (I think)

So I am very thankful my loving mother and father are met and fell in love all those years ago.   Love you Mom! Thanks for spending this time with me and helping me get ready for the biggest change of my life!   Love you Dad! Thanks for loving me too and I can’t wait for you to come visit and meet your grand daughter, Mariella….   aka Wee Baby Girl.
