How was your Fourth of July?

darlene trinitie(image from HoumaToday.com) I hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth of July yesterday! And I hope while you took time to relax, eat bbq, drink a cold beverage and spend time with your family and friends.. you took a moment to truly be thankful.

Here are a few things I wanted to share:

Independence day prayer:

On this Independence Day I am reminded of all those who have sacrificed for my freedom, following the example of your Son, Jesus Christ. Let me not take my freedom, both physical and spiritual, for granted. May I always remember that my freedom was purchases with a very high price. My freedom cost others their very lives.

Darlene, Kellie and Trinitie made it to the HoumaToday.com website, for the Forth of July Celebration.  Follow this link to HoumaToday to watch the video.  In the video, around 1 minute 5 seconds, you see Trinities hand holding and waving an American Flag.  Then you see Darlene and Trinitie, and then Kellie gets to tell the world what Fourth of July means to her.     Good answer Kellie!

Looks like eveyone had a wonderful time at the parade!  Happy Houma is finally having their own 4th of July celebration!  Hopefully next year the girls won’t have to wait 2 hours for a snowball!  lol

    Love the video! That was so cool!

    We had a barbecue and enjoyed the weather. We spent most of the day outside. Even had morning coffee in the back yard. :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

      Sounds like a nice day! I know, can you believe how famous Kellie is? She was in the paper a few times, now she is in a video, and she will be on the Houma news too!

      Yesterday, we went ride around a bit, went to a farmers market ~ got some peaches. Then we went to Safeway and got some blueberries, pineapple, a watermelon and some vitamin waters. Oh and a box of bubba burgers.

      Then played bejeweled and wheel of fortune on the PS3.

      Ate a burger.

      Snuggled on the couch.

      Went for a late night walk outside ~ it was very dark in the back by the river, some people were bbq-ing by candle light! lol we saw a couple fireworks through the trees.

      We had a lovely day. I am very thankful for everything we have going for us! So much positive energy, so much love, so much goodness to share!

    Me Famous…nahhhh…you got me confused with someone else.

    Williams Girls 4th of July –

    Went to the wreath laying ceramony at the Veterans Park on 311 for 5pm…stayed to catch the parade…the girls loved the parade especially Trini. Had a soldier in the parade ask about my husband when he saw my shirt. Left the parade went to the Houma Civic Center for…snowballs, cokes, hotdogs, face painting, air brush tattoos, music and fireworks. While walking to the stage area to find a place to sit a lady saw my shirt and told me thank you. That made me feel so good on the inside. Someone appreciating the wife of a miltiary man for all what we have to go through.

    It was so nice to see my family dressed in their red, white and blues celebrating the freedom we have and all who have helped us to keep that.

    Thanks to all military past and present…for all what they have done and continue to do. And thanks to all the spouses and family that support their loved ones. No one can understand what we go through unless you have been in our shoes. Its not an easy task and we manage to put a brave smile on to try and stay strong for our families…..But its not easy…

      Kellie, thanks for posting! I know I will not ever know what you are going though while Derrick is away… I do know that you are right about it not being easy! Your family is here for you, lean on us when you need some support.
