Holiday Tradations ~

Posted on Dec 8, 2008 in Uncategorized | 6 comments

Hello family and friends!  The holidays are here, and we all have traditions. What are some of yours? We would love to know! :-)
Some of my current adult traditions include:
~watching Emmet Otters Jug-Band Christmas
~drinking Holiday drink – Crown Royal with ginger ale, and Gluvine
~new pajamas

This year, I decided to add to the list and make candy apples, chocolate apples, caramel apples, you get the idea, something sweet covering crisp, delicious apples!

On the batch below, Pat and I made some caramel, dunked the apples, chilled, melted chocolate, dunked apples, added coconut to some and walnuts to others, chilled. It was really fun and after we finish this batch I am going to make some more!

  4. recipe from Faith, the Gluvine expert!

Secret recipe for the best ever gluvine =
1 large bottle of port + a muslin bag with a couple of cinnamon sticks, 1 T sugar, 1 t whole cloves, dash of nutmeg, a few small pieces of orange peel. Put the port and muslin bag in a crock pot for 1 hour on low then enjoy!

Thank you Faith for the recipe! I bought some port the other night, so when it snows again, guess what I am having!!!
