scared to save!

I was on a mission.  I had my Target coupons, my manufacture coupons and a list of needed items.   I went to Target yesterday and here is a brief summary of what happened..   I’ll be more specific later if y’all like this kind of thing.

In my buggy:
6 lg vegetable supreme pizzas
2 boxes cereal
2 boxes carnation instant breakfast
1 fantastik cleaner
1 cascade dish washer detergent
1 container country time lemon aid mix
1 jar jalapenos
1 jar olives
1 half gallon horizon milk
2 desk fans
1 bag chicken nuggets
1 box envelopes
1 pair scissors
2 bags chex mix
1 bottle gain detergent

My total came to $68

I sent Pat to Starbucks with a coupon for a free banana chocolate smoothie so he wouldn’t have to be around for the coupon episode.  I handed over lots of coupons and he started scanning. I was watching my total of $68. tick down.  $64. $60.   $57.  $53.  $50.  $49.   …..  I had a few more coupons to go. I was like “its working its working YAY”

C R A S H the whole system stopped, crashed and started to reboot itself. The associate didn’t know what to do, he called the manager.   The manager did not know what to do.  She called the another manager…    (oh my god I was freaking out and I thought my coupons broke the system)  By this time the computer completed its reboot.  They said ok, we should be good now, lets redo the transaction.  We took everything out of the bags and placed back on the belt…  beep beep beep, we are redoing the transaction.   phew..  I feel a little relieved as the total comes up and we begin again.. $64. $60.   $57.  $53.  $50.  $49.  $47 and then C R A S H

no way that just happened AGAIN!  ~   No one knows what is going on and I am pretty happy that I put on some mascara and lip gloss yesterday because EVERYONE was looking my way and wondering what was going on.

We ALL (2 managers and 2 associates, Pat and I) went to a different register.  Unpacked the bags and put the items on the belt.   Beep beep beep beep beep. ..  we get the total..   we scan the coupons… the manager gives me an additional $5. off the the register hick ups… and I get my buggy full of items for $42.

It worked! Finally!  It was just a coincidence that the register broke twice.  The manager apologized like crazy and assured me it was not the coupons.     I must remember that it is OK to use coupons and save money…   it was all just a freak accident…   don’t be scared to save money Angel …  don’t be scared to save money Angel…
