saving money is fun!

Clipping coupons can be addicting!  In an effort to save a few bucks here and there, I came across some totally amazing things in the last week.  People out there are using coupons and getting there stuff for free or pennies on the dollar!  I thought…  hummmm  I want to get some free stuff!!  So my new addiction began….

My first coupon experience happened at Target.  I found this post at CouponCravings.com about how you can get 4 boxes of Kasha Cereal for free.  ok ….  that would be AWESOME!   I really didn’t think it would work..  I mean if I print a few coupons and go to Target, how could I really get free stuff?  Its something I had trouble wrapping my head around.

So I registered at Kasha and printed my 4 coupons.  2 for $2 off 1 box kasha, and 2 for $1 off box of kasha (total of $6 in coupons)

I went to Target. Sure enough they were advertising buy 4 kasha products for $11 and receive a $5 target gift card.   I picked 4 boxes of cereal and put it in my buggy.  I needed a new tooth brush too, so I saw they had reach toothbrushes temporarily marked down to 1.49 and I had a dollar coupon in my coupon organizer!  score!  I threw it in the buggy.

I had 5 items… and 5 coupons..  and I was scared to check out!  The cashier at first told me I could not use my coupons and I almost passed out.  I asked for the manager and he said of course she can use her coupons.   phew……

so 4 boxes of cereal $11
1 tooth brush $1.49
total coupon savings $7
total after coupons $5.50
free Gift card $5.00 (to use on next purchase)
So I paid $5.50 and they gave me back a $5.00 back in a gift card (kinda like only paying .50cents!)

wow! it worked and it was totally awesome!
the next day I went back to target to use my 5 dollar gift card.
I purchased
2 boxes of kasha cereal $2.75 each
2 boxes of kasha waffles $1.48 each
2 yogurts at .50 cents each
total 9.46
used 2 coupons for $2 off 1 box of cereal total now 5.46
used previous $5 gift card, total paid for everything .46 cents
AND I was rewarded with another $5 gift card for purchasing 4 kasha products.

not that is totally awesome!!!!!!!

~ couponcravings.com I went to her site first because I saw it on FOX news. She has some amazing links on her site to get you to other cool coupon clipping people.
~ afullcup.com is also a totally awesome site with cool people. They have forums for deals, coupon match ups and it is such a valuable resource.
~ One Frugal Lady - I love her site, she shows pictures of what she buys and how much she pays for it. I mean .05 cents for all of this? awesome!
