a house is a house…. and I want a house! Timmy bought one, and Peter did too! (congrats guys!) I have been researching places to live….Little Rock AR – Cherokee Village AR -Alexandria LA – Shreveport LA – San Antonio TX – Dallas TX – y mas.
We are running out of time here in MD. We need to figure out a place where we want to live.
If you could live anywhere in the United States, where would you pick and why? Give me some imput guys and gals, it is all part of my 99 day plan. It starts tomorrow.
oh, and incase you are wondering my muscles in my back are hurting me soooooo bad! Stupid muscle pain, seriously, it brings me to the floor when it starts to contract and spasm…. and then I can’t get up for a while, yeah I looked kind of wierd at work today. It is more painful then the volcano drink I endured and won a bet with Scott! details on that to come later.
and on houses, here is a beautiful greenhouse Melyssa and I visited a week or so ago. It should be called a rainbow house, it was super colorful!

Super mom, super wife and super tired! :-) I created this website to keep my friends, family and internet enthusiast entertained. :P I try to take pretty pictures, make healthy foods, play arts and crafts and much more!
I love it in Texas and would also seriously consider Florida. I always thought it would be cool to live in South Carolina. Never been there but it always looked like a great place. I also liked Denver but don't know if I would want to live there.
Another thing to consider if you are just looking at a place to move is the states impact on your finances.
Seven states have no state income tax: Alaska, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, Texas, Washington and Wyoming. Two others, New Hampshire and Tennessee, tax only dividend and interest income.
Here are two quick links you may want to browse:

Hope you start feeling better. Here's a virtual Ninfarita for you. It can't hurt.
Later, Gordon
Well let me see where you & Pat can live what about Houma La. soooooooooo close to family & your mother could cook for you sometimes see you more ,hug you more, talk to you more so what if you don't make the same amount of money just think of all the other benifits.love you
Angel,
I would live in Austin Texas.
Till I was 60, then I would retire to New Mexico or Arizona and live with the Hopi Indian tribe till I died. If I could make this happen I would move there today. Austin is amazing.
:smile2_ee:
Austin's o.k. for you liberal leaning types….
…. I'm just too conservative. Austin is a great place and it is in TX. Also a big high tech sector in Austin for Pat. One good thing, liberals probably aren't good at pool so Pat would have another reason to go there.
Why settle for TEXAS? . . . since everybody loves you guys so much and will visit you where ever you go . . . go BIG . . . Bahamas, Hawaii, Virgin Islands . . . I'd come visit you for sure.
I hear that Oregon and Washington state are beautiful, but too far from home.
Just remember this, "home is where the heart is", so as long as you and Pat are TOGETHER, you will always be HOME.
I don't want you to take this the wrong way. I don't want you to get upset. But for me I don't think that I would move far from where I am now. I love being so close to family. I love knowing that if I need something they are right there for me. I love the fact that they get to see my kids grow up and are there for the important mile stones in there life. I like being close to them in case they need me. Or print directions out for them. (Love you Maw-Maw) If I did have to move (which I don't think will be happening) I would only want to be a few hours away. But I am plenty happy where I am now.
I love my family.
I say move far so we can have a place to vacation. I like Terri's idea. Actually, I think we should buy a big place somewhere and everyone can live there. Maybe call it Ganawayville, Matthewsburg, etc. Streets like Gordon Grove, Lynette Lane, Angel Avenue, Daniel Drive. Nice scenic places like Lacoste Lake, Melyssa Meadows, Pat Park. Yeahhhh….that's the ticket. Our own little town. I like that idea. :thumbup_tb: I'd like to be buried somewhere in my own little town. That would be a great way to end a really great life. Yeahhhh….that would be serene. :happy_tb:
Well, Austin and I vote right here by us. You get family, Ninfa's, and Barney's. I mean is there really even anything to think about. Plus, Austin really misses his party nights at Aunt Angel's.
these are some great ideas y'all!
Scott, why do you like Austin so much?
Mom, Houma seems too crowded now. What other city close to home can you think of? I need a place close enough to a big city for pat to do his thing and bring home the bacon! since I am bring home the hash browns, although hash browns are damn tasty with bacon!
Terri, we thought about going overseas, doing it up real big. But would people really come visit? Faith has been away for years and only Gordon got to see her in her new area.
Candice, we are thinking about Texas again… Where would you live if you could pick anyplace? Would you pick The Woodlands still? Sometimes I want to live in Colorado, next to the <a href="http://images.google.com/images?q=garden+of+the+gods+colorado&oe=UTF-8&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi" rel="nofollow">Garden of the Gods
Gordon, thanks for the links. When we moved to MD we didn't even consider the fact we pay soooooo much in State Tax. Our plan to save money here totally backed fired! DOH ! I am going to check the links and continue to research. Florida is beautiful, too far though. TN might be nice.
Kellie, I definitely want to move closer back to "home" I was talking to Tim and he gave me a name of a city close to Baton Rouge, and I am looking for it now.. I can't remember. Prayville? Clarksville? something ville?
my memory is fried at the moment, and not from jager, I am just tired.
Keep the feedback coming!
Its was Prairieville Angel and its right next to Baton Rouge (and about 5 minutes from me). Baton Rouge has a pretty good tech related job field and its fairly cheap cost of living. the only hiccup is that the real estate is still a little high since the storms but its no where near the craziness of those damn Yankee states.
Tennessee would be cool too as the areas around pigeon forge and all that have awesome scenery and such don't know squat about the computer industry there though.
I know I speak for me and Pete when I say that wherever y'all move to you can count on us making at least one trip a year there
What a great discussion y'all. Technically we saw Faith and Eban their first full day in London….
I know we will visit y'all anywhere in the states. Don't forget about Arkansas. Hadn't been there since 1997 but it's a nice place scenery wise.
No offense to my family but not all of us can afford to fly our family to some tropic island or up north. Aunt Faith has been over seas for a few years and I never got to go see her and Aunt Angel has been living in Maryland for a while and I haven't been able to see her. I love my family and would like to see them but not all of us has the luxery to fly anywhere and anytime to see you.
Aunt Angel you say Houma is too crowded but so is areas in Texas. Just because we don't have any cool bars (not that I know of any way) dosen't mean Houma is not a cool place to live. Home is where the heart is. My heart is in Houma with the majority of my family.
I'm not trying to be mean so sorry if it sounds that way. But I wish you plenty of luck trying to decide where to settle down.
I love each and every one of you.
I love Houma! and I do think it is great place to settle down. I have some more ideas, I'll post them when I get back from work..
If I could live anywhere, I would live in Maine and be one of those fishermen the stay out on the boat catching crabs three or four months out of the year making enough money to spend the rest of the year going to art classes. However, since I can't paint, get sea sick, and leaving Austin at home in a strange place alone for three to four months is not very practical, my second choice is Texas. It doesn't have to be The Woodlands. I really liked San Antonio when Riplee and I went there for her dance thing. It has the big city vibe while being really pretty and homey. One day maybe we can just break out and live on a boat for a few months. Just be free and stinky.
viva la free and stinky!
I remember when Faith and Eban were fixing to buy a boat and live in the water!
I just worked 14 hours. I have 2 people starting work on Monday. With in the week I will fire one of them.
good night, I shall dream of my dream home … my big trees and shady porch… yep.
sweet dreams.
I have more on this .. I'll post later.
I like the way you think Baby Sis.
FIRE AWAY :guns_tb: :guns_tb: :guns_tb: :guns_tb: :guns_tb: :guns_tb: :guns_tb: :guns_tb:
And quit banging your head :wallbash_tb: :wallbash_tb:

Hi Angel,
I've been hanging out in San Antonio a bunch for work. It's a fantastic place and I heard that they are renting the basement at The Alamo for a reasonable rate.
Remember….it's adobe…can you say adobe??? And plus, you always know where you are because it's "Deep in the heart of Texas!!!!!" :drunk_tb:
Hey Scott,
Is the Hopi Indian Reservation close to the Smackahoe Tribe Reservation? Since I am a native Smackahoe Tribe member I was thinking about retiring there.
Candice.
I think it's closer to thr miget tribe "warthefukarewe" tribe.
They always get lost in the tall bushes! :snake_ee:
Are we moving ? I need to check this page more often . :jittery_tb:
Pat, yeah, I guess it slipped my mind. We are moving to a place far far away! I had a few minutes this morning.. I found this list of cities in Louisiana….
Tony Hawk is hard!
I need Gordon's big shed in Braux Bridge to store my stuff, while I travel the lands looking for a beautiful spot to build my home!
I watched "click" last night at the movies. I cried!! and Cried! and CRIED! ahh it was a fantastic movie, funny, entertaining, great story line, sentimental, and lovely, and all round a great freaking movie. One thing it has confirmed for me…. I want to move. Like now, and that is going to be really difficult I think. Pat is the man and brings home the bacon for sure…. I add the toast and butter, but we need that bacon to pay the rent! Pat will ultimately be the driving force on where we move to. I know I want to live closer to Houma, closer meaning no longer than a 5-6 hour drive.
I do believe this:
Family First.
And I am taking the day off today. Work will no longer take me away on a whirlwind of craziness. I don't like that. It is not what I want. I need to set my priorities… see?
