Kale, cucumber and celery! oh my!

My raw ideas I share are totally new to me.. and maybe to you too! Please feel free to give me feedback, share ideas or anything! I am just so excited to be thinking healthy again!

Learning about raw foods… I wanted to experiment on green drinks. I do not have a juicer so this was a little bit difficult. I have never had a green drink prior to this and I had no idea what it would taste like, or what it should look like during the process. I didn’t know of the consistency or anything! So this is my first green drink and I share it with you. I bet when I get a juicer this will be much more satisfying!

Kale 1 ~ I gathered some organic kale, celery and cucumbers.

kale cucumber and celery 2 ~ In went the kale, cucumber then celery…. however I learned that you really must have the heavy items at the bottom of the blender… I had to remove and push the heavier veggies down more than once.

blended green drink 3 ~ After I blended, my pretty veggies turned into green slime and I was not prepared for this!!!! It really did look pretty disgusting. The kitchen smelled of green. It reminded me of a summer day as I sipped lemon aid and my daddy cut the grass!

green drink 4 ~ Since I do not have a juicer I had to strain my mixture in my tiny silver strainer. This took a while and the anticipation of tasting it was driving me crazy! AND this is not very convenient.. it took 10 minutes or more to strain it.

TotallyAngel enjoying green! 5 ~ Finally I get to experience my first green drink! The taste – super fresh and vitamin like. The consistency – smooth but a little dense. I suppose that is from straining it. Did I like it?? I did. It was really refreshing and different from a smoothie or ANY other drink I ever had. Since I had a bundle of kale, I made it for the next few days as a snack in the afternoon. It did get tastier and more refreshing as the days went by.

I want to make this again and experiment more, however I think I really need a juicer to make it a bit easier for me.
Have you ever had a green drink? Did you like it? Do you want to try one? What color do you want your drink to be? Let us know!
