I cranked up my good spirits this morning. Someone once told me “You are the most optimistic person I know!” huh. well not lately. Not for months. The catastrophe from Hurricane Katrina has left me feeling worthless and helpless. I have wept for days and days. I pray that the people find strength to stay optimistic and look forward to a better future.
Some positive things:
~ Dr Clouthier is having a fundraiser for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. You can find a little info here at Dr Melissa’s Blog
They are working on the details and I will update when I see they have everything posted.
More details to come.

Super mom, super wife and super tired! :-) I created this website to keep my friends, family and internet enthusiast entertained. :P I try to take pretty pictures, make healthy foods, play arts and crafts and much more!
Hey! Thanks for helping spread the word on Miles. He does have a great CD out and he is doing a very noble thing right now. Everyone needs to go to CD Baby and buy his CD, it is a win-win situation. You get a great CD and all proceeds go to helping the victims of Katrina.
I just got a great email from Bryan from the band Rising Conviction. The show is growing so much! Did you catch the latest where I talk about my listener numbers? It is out of control.
I do hope that you feel better soon. This has been such a tragedy but we have to push forwards. So many lost everything. We are so blessed that our family not only survived but came through with almost no damage to their property. We need to keep those families that did not fare so well in our thoughts and prayers, but also rejoice that our family came through unharmed.
This is a tough time for the nation, but even moreso for those of us that grew up there. I believe we are feeling so out of touch because there is so much distance between us and our family and home right now.
It will get better, trust me!
Holy Shit! My promo just got played today on Adam Curry's Daily Source Code! I am so stoked!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the link! Your videos are cool too, I got a kick out of the golf cart clips!
I have had to take quite a few deep breaths to move forward lately also. Thru helplessness I know what I really have and what it is worth.
Because we care it will be better.
Angel, I feel the same way….. There are so many people here that have lost everything. There are shelters set up in Houma and Thiboadux, but what is next for them? The city is bad, we have the Lowes store in centeral New orleans that will probably have to be demolished, and that store employs at least 150 people. We have some that are working in our store….there are just so many and I have no idea what we can do. Steph and I cooked food for some poeple that were going to Jefferson parish to hand out supplies….but it doesn't feel like enough.
Hey Angel!
It's wonderful to be back in my own flat and not have to eat hotel food anymore. Anyway, just wanted to say I am so happy that you decided to take some web design and programming classes. I know you have been wanting to do that for a while. You are going to learn so much!
Good luck with the cute Ebay stuff!
Keep doing things to positively improve your life, it will make you feel so much better! Take care…
Eban – I am so freaking excited that your show is doing so well!!! seriously!! it is awesome!
Miles – I liked what you said… "Because we care it will be better." simple and so powerful. thanks.
Amy – wonderful to see you here! I am so grateful you, Steph and the baby left town. I suppose since SO many thousands of places were destroyed and so many lives completely changed, a lot is actually a little and every little bit helps. This actually made sense to me when I thought about it… Melyssa and Denae helped at the Civic center the last few days. Just when I stopped crying, I saw 5 minutes of Oprah yesterday and it started again, Pat came in and turned off the TV. It is hard to find the strength to do anything and I am not even directly affected by what happened. It blows my mind.. I wonder what the ones affected think now.. what they are doing at this second.. how can they prepare for the future with so many unanswered questions?? breaks my heart as I type.. Gotta stop. Love you!!!
Faith – thanks sis! I am trying to keep up the positive changes!! It is hard to believe how I fell of the beat and path.. man, I scraped both my knees, my right elbow, and bit my lip. Time to get back on and start doing something
